To help ensure your safety and comfort during surgery, please review the following guidelines carefully before your appointment. Following these instructions will help us provide you with the best possible care and reduce the risk of complications.
On the Day of Your Surgery
Please DO
Take your regular medications with a small sip of water, unless otherwise instructed.
Important: If you are diabetic, bring your insulin or oral hypoglycemic medication with you, but do not take it before surgery.
Take any prescribed preoperative medications such as antibiotics or sedatives exactly as directed.
Bring a responsible adult who can remain in the office during your procedure, drive you home afterward, and stay with you during your recovery. Note: No patient may receive care without a chaperone present. A parent or guardian must accompany all minors.
Practice good hygiene prior to surgery — bathe, shampoo your hair, and brush your teeth.
Wear loose, comfortable, short-sleeved clothing to allow for monitoring and comfort.
Notify our office if you develop a fever, cough, cold, or flu symptoms before your procedure.
Allow extra travel time to avoid being late or rushed.
Plan to be in the office for approximately three hours, including surgery, recovery, and postoperative instructions.

On the Day of Your Surgery
Please DO NOT
Eat or drink anything (including water) for at least 8 hours before surgery.
Wear jewelry, tongue rings, makeup, nail polish, or false fingernails.
Use perfumes, colognes, or scented lotions (some staff members are highly allergic).
Smoke before surgery.
Wear contact lenses.
Bring children to your appointment unless necessary.
